Kids Short Game
"Short Game Scoring Shots"
Kids who have previously attended our "Full Swing" camps are eligible to move on to our Short-game Camp. The great thing about this session on green-side scoring shots is that kids don't need size, height, or weight to become "L'il Tigers with killer short games This is a more advanced group, with more emphasis put on Instruction and Practice, and eliminating the mini-golf component.
- Every day, the kids have an Instruction session (about 35 minutes)
- Then a supervised coaching session where they use learning drills and teaching aids,
- There is a different lesson every day; Day 1`]. Putting Day 2]. Chipping Day 3]. Sand Play Day 4]. Pitching Day 5]. Review, and Coping with Difficult Lies, Wind, Trouble Shots,
- Each day, they have a fun round of competitions and "shoot-outs" on the short-game practice area.,
- To get them accustomed to a real course, they play on 3-hole Par-3 course
- We have team competitions, as well as "putting shoot-outs" for big prizes, (popsicles), so that the kids not only have fun while learning, but they try their best.
- Emphasis is on fun, and great stuff to learn.
Short-Game Camp Format
WHEN; classes start the last week of June and run each week until the last week of August
FORMAT; kids come for 5 weekdays, for 4 hours per day from 8:00am until 12:00pm.
FOOD; We have a snack bar at our kiosk (no hot food available) or bring a lunch from home.
AGES; we take boys and girls of ages between 7 and 16
RAIN-DATES / MAKEUPS; we have 40 covered tees, so that we can still have tee-line coaching and hitting even with rain. If a youngster can't be a certain day, the kids can do a makeup during any day of any week of the summer.
THEY ALSO RECEIVE; a "PGA JUNIOR GOLF CERTIFICATE" from The PGA of AMERICA, and a wallet-sized Certification Card bearing Jack Nicklaus' signature, ( we have made arrangements with several area courses that will allow underage youngsters to play the course if they have attended our Golf Camps).
COST; For a 5-day golf week , the cost is $209.00 including all taxes.
